Well all stories have to start somewhere so this one is starting here. After a series of events that have at times been exhilarating, happy, mediocre, sad and utterly desperate we, a family of five  are about to collect the narrowboat 'Tywyn' that is soon to become our home.

Only one of the five (me) has any real experience of life afloat and even that is based on 20 years of holiday hiring, the longest of which was two weeks. Everyone else has had the benefit of an entire one week holiday earlier this year (2003). Yet by a combination of determination, luck, our own desires and forces outside of our control we are about to leave our rented four bedroom farmhouse, complete with seven acres of garden and move onto 62ft of narrowboat. We expect life to be interesting.

Over the years I have added more pages, as time and events permit. Everything here has happened, or in some cases is what we plan to happen. Some of these things have worked out as we planned, some have not.

The buttons are arranged in date order, top to bottom. If you are new to this site then I suggest that you start at the beginning as some pages rely on you having read earlier ones. Returning visitors will of course find it quicker to just go to the latest addition (currently page 20).
